Multiple myeloma (MM) is the second most common hematologic malignancy. Despite continuous advances in therapy in recent years, most patients still face relapse and drug resistance. When key agents such as lenalidomide lose effectiveness, treatment options narrow dramatically — patients urgently need more powerful therapeutic options. To help such patients break through this treatment bottleneck, Beijing GOBROAD Boren Hospital is conducting a related clinical study and is now publicly recruiting participants.
About the Clinical Study
Dear participants,
Our hospital is conducting a Phase III randomized controlled clinical study of Equecabtagene Autoleucel injection in patients with lenalidomide-resistant relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma, sponsored by IASO Biotherapeutics (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. as a Class 1 new drug. The study has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration (CDE registration number: CTR20241656) and has been reviewed and approved by our hospital's Ethics Committee. Eligible patients are warmly invited to participate.
Key Inclusion Criteria
- Age 18 to 70 years (inclusive of boundary values), any sex.
- Previously diagnosed with multiple myeloma, having received 1–2 prior lines of therapy (including chemotherapy regimens based on proteasome inhibitors and immunomodulators; each line must include at least one complete cycle). Disease progression must be documented — by clinical evidence — during or within 12 months after the most recent anti-myeloma therapy.
- Documented lenalidomide resistance: disease progression occurred during lenalidomide administration (including lenalidomide maintenance therapy) in any prior line, or did not achieve MR (minimal response) or better within 60 days of completing lenalidomide.
- Measurable disease present during screening — meeting any one of the following criteria:
- Serum monoclonal protein (M-protein) ≥ 5 g/L;
- Urine M-protein ≥ 200 mg / 24 hours;
- Serum involved free light chain ≥ 100 mg/L, with an abnormal serum κ/λ free light chain ratio.
- ECOG performance status score of 0 or 1.

About Equecabtagene Autoleucel (CT103A)
Equecabtagene Autoleucel injection is a fully human BCMA-targeted CAR-T cell therapy developed by IASO Biotherapeutics. It works by isolating a patient's own T cells and engineering them to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that recognizes B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) on the surface of multiple myeloma cells, enabling precise immune clearance of malignant plasma cells.
CAR-T cell therapy has transformed the treatment landscape for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma in recent years, offering deep remissions and durable responses in patients who have exhausted conventional options. The present Phase III study aims to confirm the efficacy and safety of Equecabtagene Autoleucel specifically in the lenalidomide-resistant population — one of the largest unmet needs in MM today.

Beijing GOBROAD Boren Hospital is a research-driven tertiary hematology and oncology hospital affiliated with GOBROAD Medical Group. The hospital integrates hematology, oncology, and cellular immunotherapy into a single clinical platform and has treated thousands of patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, including a substantial number receiving CAR-T cell therapy and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
The trial is open to both domestic and international patients who meet the eligibility criteria. Multilingual coordinators and remote consultation services are available to assist overseas applicants.
